In one sentence

Shokonotes is a library and reader for Markdown notes kept as plain files in a folder you choose, for Mac and iPhone, with no account and no subscription.

Short description

Your notes are files. Shokonotes finds them, reads them and lets you write them: full-text search that answers while you type, nested folders, YAML tags that cut across them, a clean GitHub Flavored Markdown preview with syntax highlighting, and a small built-in editor — or the one you already use. Nothing is imported, nothing is locked in: delete the app and your notes are still there.
